Mr. heater contractor series 125,000 BTU forced air kerosene heater

I’ve had it probably 12 years or so. It’s always stored inside a clean area and although I don’t use it maybe less than an hour year it’s always started ran perfectly.. this year. I’m testing it out. It won’t start at all flashing a flame error. Take a cover off. I’m looking for trouble shooting steps and then I looked down and noticed that this hose (air)is cracked almost in two..

Electrical tape for the quick fix and although I’m tempted, I really should replace it. The hose looks pretty cheap material (Certainly the replacement is as well)to start with. Is there any reason I can’t just use good fuel hose or something similar ?

Thanks

If it's truly just air, seems that any vacuum hose should be fine.

But if it's kerosene vapors, then a fuel rated hose would seem better...
