Like green toolboxes?

What are your thoughts? I’m selling my snap-on and my Masterforce to trade off for an extreme tool 72” box to free up shop space, reducing my bench size to replace it with toolbox.

I really like lime green, but is this a turn off on the resale market? Black is so bleh and shows every finger print and smudge.

Surprisingly though my black master craft is getting ALOT more hits on the sale market than my Orange snap on 3 drawer cart. Which is a way better box, holds WAY more in WAY less space, but the black Masterforce I have 25 potential buyers within a week and the snap on only 4. (None serious. None.)

Is it the color? The price? The Masterforce is a 47” roll cart for $400 and the snap on is about 44 for $800, but it’s a strap-on. Line up because we all know those are expensive.

I like it myself, but may not be for everyone. When I buy stuff, I buy what I want, rather than for resale. That said, I bought an 84" lime green toolvault box last year from strictlytoolboxes.com and I love it

I think green toolboxes are in reasonable demand. I think people like green from brands like Snap On also.

Lots of appreciation for green tools (not just Snap On) in that thread.

If you like the green toolbox, I'd get it and I don't think it will affect your resale value much.

(I have a cheap tool cart on order in green myself - I have 2 red toolboxes that I would have preferred green or orange for, though I don't care that much)

Everyone bought bright green toolboxes a couple years ago because it was the cool new thing... After having that jar you awake when you had to look at it 50 times a day for a couple years, it wasn't such a hot idea any more. Unless you really, REALLY love fluorescent green, and are willing to be married to it for some 10-20 YEARS, then you may want to rethink it.

It's all in what you like - If you really like "fluorescently electric lemon green", then go for it, but you DON'T buy a toolbox with the thought you're going to sell it in a year or 2... if you are, you're already in the wrong business. You're buying something you get to look at for 30 years. Think about it.

There's another thing, and I've noticed a lot of these big, 'spensive, and brightly colored boxes are from people who got another job. People who thought turning a wrench was an adventure rather than a job, and sunk their lafe savings into a fad rather than a career. Mix in the inevitable ******* shop foreman or SOB service manager, season with long hours making flat rate in a slow shop... paying rent and feeding a family with a side of weekly payments to the truck guys... Hello Mr. Bright Green reminder of my miserable life.

Nothing wrong with Kawasaki Green, but you have to love it to be married to it.

No I don’t care for green for a toolbox dark green would be ok but for the box I prefer the classic tool box red. I have a red box, a gray box and a blue box. I don’t have any green Snap-on handles either lol.

Get what you want. It’s your money. It’s tool box red. I would have preferred black but red was all that was available. To me it’s just a place to put my tools. It isn’t a fashion statement.

I like green. When I shopped for a used pro level box several years ago, the only color that really gave me pause was teal. Certainly I preferred red, but orange, yellow, black, or blue were all options. I ended up buying new because used boxes were brining stupid money at the time.
I agree with the others who say buy what you like. This is right up there with not driving your car on a road trip because you don’t want to rack up the miles or not sleeping with your girlfriend because you want her to more more attractive to her next boyfriend.

I love the responses guys �� and yeah I’m staying away from another snap on box and selling a lot of my old snap on tools. Just gonna replace with cheaper Napa brands as my main dislike for snap on is how difficult it is to track down the dealer in my area.
Napa is SO much better for warentee claims and just better all around to deal with. I’m at a toss up between the green boxes and the white ones, I just wonder how a fluorescent green ages. (Being looked at every day).
I personally love the color, but I like white as well and just don’t know if over time it would become an eye sore.

I've had a brown Kennedy machinist chest and roller for over 40 years. Good stuff but talk about boring. I sold off a black and gold (hello '77 Trans Am!) 42" Homak chest and roller in 2018 and bought a big 72" lime green roller with 44" & 26" chests. Still love it. Will always love it.

Black, white, and shades there of...73% of cars on the road. While I know cars aren’t tool boxes, it does offer insight to people’s tastes.

Mine is flat olive drab, so it's "green", but not "blast the backs of your eyeballs into Migraineville" green. Drawers on them are still the original red, and I've been asked more than once what I did in the Army / Marines...

I wasn't sure I'd like the OD look, it was originally just to keep the frames on them from re-rusting, and it's what I had available... as it turns out I'm kinda hooked on it (and I'm glad as I was thinking about yellow...)

If I had to get a new box, it would definitely be darker than fluorescent eye-blast hot-whatever.

I've had 3 green snap on boxes and 3 carts all extreme green. About the only color I won't touch is yellow.

In today's world with wraps and such,IMO the color is not a big deal.
I think size and price play more of a factor.
You can't beat 30" deep drawers.
