that flame orange HF straps are kinda scary.

I bought a 4-pack when I went to pick up my current box, and realized halfway there I didn't have any straps at all... only 1 of the 4 lived through the ride back to the shop. :shocking:

That's gotta be the dumbest choice of pics for an ad asking a pretty high price for a box. "Brand new" usually means "hasn't sat in the snow" to me.

If a box can't stand up to getting a little snow on it, it ain't worth having.

Nothing a towel can't take care of.

Are snap on boxes so fragile that they can't ever see a little water without falling apart?

ya'll sound like women talking about shoes!

LOL...I'm sure the box is for sale for a reason. If its on the trailer in the snow and for sale, your guess what that reason is would be as good as mine.

Its not about being fragile, its about having respect for tools that you spent big money for. Theres a foot of snow sitting on that thing.

I'm sure he had no choice in the matter. Either the son lost his job and had to move back in w/ mom and dad, or dad had to get his boy's **** due to the 10yr prison sentence.

I guess I've learned from this thread SnapOn does a poor job of painting their boxes.

I bet it's better than the seller's job as a salesman.

Irregardless of if a SO box can stand snow, why the hell would you use that pic to sell it? How about shelling out 10 bucks to cover a box that costs thousands?

That's kinda what I was thinking. Maybe he bought a trailer and the box was on it and he wants it off...

my "issue" is that it's sitting on the trailer, covered in snow, and he's trying to sell it.

why not unload it, wipe it down, so it looks better in the pic?

it's like trying to sell a box load of greasy, oily tools.

it's all about presentation.

you see 2 women across the room, both average in looks and build.
totally equal to each other
one is in baggy jeans, tshirt, no makeup, messy hair...

the other hair neat, makeup, skirt & blouse, sundress, fitted jeans/pants, ect ect.

what one will you offer to buy a drink for?

snow isnt what I would worry about its the road salt thats sprayed all over the underside from the journey to his driveway

well, it's a pretty easy job just remove all the drawers and spray some Simple Green, rinse, then a coat of WD40. that's what it's made for. hint the name WD40: Water Displacement 40th formula.

Isn't $4500 kinda cheap for a box like that? Scam?

doesn't seem to be, call the number first.

I have that same box in orange and love the large top drawers.

yes, the triple-bay full width is nice, it'd better be built like a tank to be that wide and not bowing down.

I think it's a killer deal, though myself would never pay that kinda money for a tool box. I spent less than $3000 on all the boxes below, 2 Matco, Vidmar top/bottom/wall combo, and a Lista.
