Put a new tube of grease into the grease gun yesterday and then it wouldnt pump grease. I bleeded it at the top bleeder and then was pumping for a solid 10 minutes and finally it worked.

Today I go to do some greasing and it was just like yesterday it wouldnt pump anything, the handle is really easy to squeeze (like its pumping air). I bleeded it again but still nothing. I'm stumped why it worked then 24 hours later its back to the same problem. Anyone know how to fix this? Or where to find a owners manual online? I misplaced mine

Heres the gun, a Lincoln 1134. I have a 3 foot flexible hose on it

Just got one of those and am away from the manual but I assume you removed the head, then pulled the t handle back on the body, inserted the cartridge, reinstall the head, then push the t handle all the way down and lock it. It should be ready to use.
Instruction manual is not very clear, but IIRC, that's the procedure.

Good luck.

I had the same problem with this gun, I use a thick grease with moly, I think the spring in the tube dosent push hard enough to keep it primed in it. I took off the blue painted tube and replaced it with a silver colored one off a 12v lincoln battery gun (which i think has a stiffer spring) and now it works fine.

The plunger seal in mine bypasses the grease. This is after maybe five tubes of grease and a month after the warranty expired. Snappy sold me a Blue-Point pneumatic gun that was returned, for half price, my Lincoln sits there, useless but looking good.

Some manual guns have a reversible plunger and how you set it is different for bulk fill and cartridges. You may want to do a bit of research on your gun.

I'll pull it apart again and take a look. However, it did work OK for a few cartridges before the grease started ending up on the wrong side of the plunger.

Its fun to work with a new grease gun. After 35 rags and 3 tubes of grease, you finally get the thing loaded and working like it should.

I'll take a look at the plunger on monday, I'm pretty sure its set up correctly since ive been through at least 15 tubes of grease with it (its my main work gun)

The tubes are interchangeable? I also have the Lincoln 1162

The non-official way to prime a Lincoln. (pump handle but should work on a pistol grip too.)

Pull back plunger, push old tube out, pull plunger back and insert new grease cartridge and tighten body without releasing plunger. Unscrew the top a few turns. (not too much, you want the body still attached to the head by a few turns)
The next part is a bit difficult to explain but there is a sweet spot on the plunger that will keep pressure against the grease cartridge without it going all the way down. It might take a bit of pulling of the plunger at first to find this spot but after you've got the hang of it it will go after 5 or 6 tries.
Put the bottom of the plunger on your knee and holding the body of the gun with the left hand apply pressure to the plunger while at the same time pumping the handle or the pistol grip with your right. After a few pumps grease will come out. Tighten the body to the top, turn the plunger a bit to push it in and you're away to the races. Anytime a grease gun loses its prime you do this too.

Im about to try this, I'm tired of it being an 2 hour messy ordeal everytime I want to use the grease gun. I threw one away after getting so pissed off at it. Plus wasting my expensive synthetic grease.
