Hey guys, I'm new to this board, but a long time gearhead. My favorite place in the house is the garage, if that tells you anything. Anyway, heard that you guys are the experts at floor jacks, among other things, and my 2-ton Lincoln floor jack just crapped out on me this past weekend. It's a Made in the USA model from I think the late 90s or early 2000s. Can't remember exactly when I bought it. I know I've had it for at least 10 years. It's done well for me, but I'm disappointed it didn't last longer. I very rarely, or ever throw USA made stuff away, so I'm wondering if it's worth rebuilding this jack.

First, some background on the problem. Over the weekend, I raised my Mustang up to almost the max of the jack height and heard an odd noise from the jack, but didn't think anything of it. Got the jack stands put under the car and lowered the jack and stored it away. When it came time to lower the car, the jack wouldn't raise. It would only go as high as I would pump the lever and then fall back. After messing with it for a bit, I figured out that lifting the jack pad about half way with the release valve closed, I could get it to hold. Quickly got the car lowered, which the jack was able to do, but then it was back to doing the same thing. Now it won't even raise more than half way. In a feeble attempt to fix the problem, I added some jack oil, but it must have already been full because it just puked all of the extra oil back out. This jack has never had a leak.

I'd love to keep the jack, but I know nothing about fixing them and I don't want to spend much on it, considering I can get a new one for about $150. Any advice? Attached are some photos of it. Thanks.
