I just orderd the Lincoln K610-2 MIG Conversion Kit for my Weld Pak 155 and was wondering if anyone has installed the kit and if they have any tips, cautions or advise on its use and install.

I did that conversion but it was a very long time ago on my 155. I vaguely remember having to remove the cover to do something in the welder but I can't remember what. What I do remember is, everything was very easy to do and there was no problems at all.

I assume you are converting from flux-core to MIG welding, so there are a couple of things you will have to do. Outside the obvious of adding the solid wire (.023?) and regulator with shield gas, you will have to change your contact tips and may have to swap the rollers around. You will also need to make sure you switch the polarity inside the cover, as flux-core and MIG reverse the work clamp and stinger/gun settings.

Interesting. So the "ground" clamp becomes positive after the kit is installed?

Polarity is reversed when switching from flux core to MIG welding.

I posted words to this effect somewhere else on this board, but, when I changed my WeldPac 155 over to MIG the results of the very next welding session were startlingly better than the flux core. Like others have mentioned, follow the instructions carefully marking them off as you perform them. I use .023 wire for my MIG needs & I am most pleased with it. Have you gotten your bottle yet?

I also use a felt wire cleaner setup that I picked up at the LWS, cleanliness is a good thing and all that......

Hello this kind of a long shot do you still have the instructions for converting the Lincoln 155 weld pak to mig. I've looked online and can't seem to find the instructions and there web sight isn't very helpful. I looked at the wiring diagram in the user manual and it shows the gas solenoid wiring going to H3 and then a terminal between H2 and H1 which I don't see on my control board. Any help appreciated
