So at work I have an old sa200 lincoln pipeliner, needs to have the cables redone but other than that it runs great. I have been wondering though about the electrical socket on it, while it looks like a normal 120v ac socket, it is dc isn't it? if so what good is it other than ruining anything that takes 120v ac?

Yes you are correct. '79-'80 based off of Lincoln's date code system. Looks like a nice original condition machine.
