I doubt a polarity change, or lack thereof could have caused your problem, but anything is possible.

Do you have voltage to the wirefeed motor when the trigger is being pressed? Does the machine have any fuses you can check?

Check to see if you might have pulled one of the contactor switch leads loose when switching the polarity. They are the 2 small wires just above the welding leads connections inside the feeder. #4 in the picture:

does it have a spool gun switch? prior to starting a little task a while back I wasnt getting any wire....after some cussing and such i realized I had flipped the switch from "normal" to spool gun on accident while setting up.

I have the same welder and have had a similar problem when I didn't have the set screw on the feed wheel tight or faced on the flat surface of the drive pin. I have also forgotten to tighten the spring clamp so the wire doesn't get friction.

Of course, now that I read your link, I doubt you haven't looked at either of those two issues.

Have you tried switching the polarity back to see if it works on the other polarity?

Have you checked the voltage at the 2 trigger leads with the trigger pulled?

Have you checked the voltage at the motor with the trigger pulled, as Zebu suggested?
