Hi:

Can anybody tell me about welders Tap Or Continous?
I like the Lincoln weld pak 180hd at home depot.
But I read somewhere about tap or continous and do not know what they are
talking about also something about duty what is that about.
I just want to learn to weld but I know enough to know go 220v.
This other things somebody PLEASE EXPLAIN!! Please.

On a tap machine you will only have a choice on four to six voltage settings only depending on the machine. On a continues machine, the voltage is anything from the lowest voltage output the machine delivers to the highest it will deliver. In other words, think of it like a volume control on a TV, only it is controlling the voltage output without 4 to 6 individual steps.....
