Line wrenches (flare wrenches)

Do yourself a favor, steer clear of both (as mentioned). You can buy a set of SK on Ebay regularly for about $30 if you're patient. This is really the one place where cheap is cheap - if you need a flare wrench, you need a GOOD flare wrench.

Just adding my plus 1 to the many people who state that flare wrenches are one of those tools that needs to be high quality.

Cheap flare wrenches will not help when you need a flare wrench.

I have from harbor freight to tool truck brands in my box.

I have snap on flare wrenches.

I tried cheap ones.

Eventually I found a good deal and ended years of frustration, stripped fittings, vice grips, and line replacements.

100% correct here. You need good quality flare nuts if you are going to get some. Avoid Craftsman if you can (SK made version is good but hard to find now)

I have a complete set (5 SAE & 5 Metric) NOS Craftsman Pro (made by SK) in the plastic trays (as shown below) in new/unused condition that I am going to posting for sale later if anybody in interested?

The OP lives in Texas, get whatever you want for wrenches. Now when you live in a rustbelt area, snap on is the way to go.

SnapOn, Sk, ProTo are top line current production.. nos Bonney are good quality and not that hard to find.... Check Cripe Distributing on Ebay for closeouts on USA made Kobalt, Allen, KD, and Armstrong.... Menards has the USA made Masterforce wrenches......
