Hey guys. Wondering what the serrations behind the plier head are used for?

Also good for holding three solid core wires to twist them for a wire nut.

If you have some thick-ish solid wire, say 12 gauge or bigger, you can use that to crush the insulation and easily strip the end without needing another tool. Crimp down on it and then the insulation easily peels away with your fingers. Comes in handy on occasion.

And badly at that. I have never found a good way to ergonomically pull a tape with the puller at the back like that. It always works better for me to pull by feeding the tape into the jaws and out the side away from the wire cutter.

Thus I agree with Tundruz They are worthless except to pinch you.

Friend I was working with the other day has a set with a crimper in there. Worked pretty good.

Works fine for me as a home owner.....I don't see the point of buying a dedicated fish tape puller. I've done this for coax, cat6, speaker cables, AV cables and romex with Klein's 50 ft wire.

Unless of course you do this all day long...

Doesn't have to be 3 (although you can usually just jam two 14s under a wire nut and start twisting). They are the ONLY tool for twisting solid wire <16 gauge !
