LineX Polyaspartic Quote

I got my quote from the local LineX dealer,

Garage floor Aspart-X Job

Removal of current coating covering concrete.
Complete cleaning and prepping of concrete floor.
Application of Aspart-X on a concrete garage floor.

Total Square Footage: 690
Subtotal: $8,280
Tax: $546.80
Total: $8,826.80

They must think I am a crack dealer or have won the Power Ball. Anyway, now thinking "Klinker" tile might be the way to go.

I don't know if the tile can be set over Epoxy.

Should I stick with the Polyaspartic and just prep the floor myself. Then let some other company install the Product.

Trying to save money to budget for nicer cabinets.

Floor has two coats of epoxy, I live in South Florida so temperature is normally
not a factor.

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Ya, they're proud of that stuff, but that seems way high. Buddy of mine owns a Line-X shop and he told me they are running $6 to $8 per sq ft. I just put down Epoxy-Coat in my shop which is the same size as yours. Line-X would have been in the 4 to $5000 range. No thanks, I did it myself for a little over a grand. Granted, it's not PA, but...

Keep in mind a few things:

They are grinding off your existing coating. You might ask what the charge would be to just scuff the existing coating and roll on a primer which is a lot easier and takes less time. Also, they won't need to apply 10 mils (see next paragraph).

If they remove your existing coating, they will apply about 10 mils of product (not including the color chips) which will be about 5 to 6 gallons of polyurea.

I assume the price includes color chips at full broadcast. Perhaps you don't want color chips at full broadcast or none at all?

It sounds like $6 to $8 per square foot makes sealing my driveway with Line X prohibitively expensive as well. Any suggestions for cheap and cheerful driveway holes repair? On a curved slope so any rain water sinks into cracks and holes and undermines the rest of the driveway on its way to the creek.
