Picked up this KRA-53 this weekend for.... $20. I believe that's a decent deal.
Its got a '63 date stamp on the back. There is so many posts on here and the HAMB about restorations, its got me very excited, and I've been majorly jonesing for an older Snap On box to work one.

I dont know why the top two drawers look crooked. I have only been able to get the bottom drawer out (the saw blade method is difficult, I think my blade is just too thick), I dont think any of the sliders are bent or broke. Everything slides real smooth, so I'm not sure what the deal is. Is it just something I'm going to have to deal with?

Does anyone ever have the logos re-chromed when restoring? Mine is a little rough

It might work better with these:
52638 2 Drawer Remover $1.67

Right. I just drove around eyeing for a Snappy truck, and came up empty handed. I usually see them around school (tech school) and the airport across the street. If I don't bump into one by tomorrow, I'll order from a deal here.

My main question is getting those drawers to line up. Nothing seems bent of damaged, so I'm not sure why they wouldn't be lining up.

The slides might be bent. When you get the drawer out it might be more apparent. The snap-on web parts store sells the drwaer tools also. I would think someone here has some extras.

Use a 9/32 allen wrench. slide the long end of the wrench into the area between the drawer and the slide, it works the same as the tool but easier, lol. once the wrench is has the "prong" or whatever u call it pushed back, you will be able to push the slide back into the box. give it a shot before u buy more tools

I've got the same problem on a vintage Snap-on box that I'm going to restore... It looks like the part of the slide that's welded to the box's frame was misaligned when it was welded. I'm not sure how I'm going to fix it, because it's one of the little drawers and I won't be able to get my hand or a mig gun in there.
