Need another set of eyes on this. Our garage has a porch with a metal ribbed ceiling (same as the garage siding) but we did not set up the lights for it. We have a switch and a capped off wire that is long enough to reach one potential fixture. Problem is, I don't want to cut into the ribbed ceiling, or surface mount, a standard round ceiling box. I surface mounted exterior boxes for the wall-mounted barn lights over the garage doors, but they are 12' in the air and I took great pains to fabricate a mounting surface to account for the metal ribs. Anyway, won't do that again and prefer to affix longitudinal lights in-between the ribs, surface mounted, like the under cabinet light shown below. I want to hardwire in the first light, then link the others, all hidden above the ceiling panels. The cheesy under cabinet lights in the bottom pic have the right mechanicals, just the wrong light shape. I cannot find a longitudinal light with hidden wiring and can all be connected to a single controller.
