Linking Air compressors

The piston went out on my CH compressor and am looking to replace it. I'm thinking about getting a California Air compressor that delivers only 2.20 CFM at 90 PSI. Since I do work on vehicles on a semi regular basis and am planning on doing a frame up build in the next year that doesn't seem like enough. If I chain it with my CH 15 gal tank does anyone know if I could use air tools with minimal waiting? Don't mind the occasional wait but I'm not going to tolerate stopping every minute to build up pressure.

The reason I like the California Air Tools Compressor is because it's pretty cheap and quiet enough so that I don't have to build a noise dampening box to prevent issues with my neighbors.

Ayuh,.... 2 cfm is 2 cfm,....

Not much air for air tools,....

Might run a nail gun, but it ain't gonna run a 1/2" impact or air sander very long,...

2.2cfm is way too low, just adding a tank gives you stored air but not more cfm.
you want something with 12cfm+ ideally.
you can buy two complete smaller compressors (example being 2x 10cfm 50ltr tank direct drives) and link them to same outlet and use a timed relay to stager second compressor turn on, can work well for budget option when a sale deal available on smaller compressors such as low cost direct drive ones (they noisy though) .

The extra tank will only slightly delay when the pump kicks on, but it will run longer because there is more to fill. Check CL for some good used compressors with more cfm.

Get a bigger comp, because nobody ever says "dam why didn't I spend a few less dollars and get the smaller comp"

As others stated go to a bigger unit, filling that bigger tank will only SHORTEN the life of that unit, and the noise, heat, and not to mention the moisture. IF you are truly going to do a restore then budget for a good ready to go 2 stage unit. I like the Champions with the reed valve pumps as they are QUIET will not piss off your neighbors and will last a life time. Figure if you want to do your rebuild right why not have the right tools. Air compressor well a good 2 stage is a lifetime investment.

Crud, I was hoping for a "ya that's fine" but was expecting that wasn't the case. As far as size I don't grind with it, and my 15 gal was great when it worked. I'm probably going to take yalls advice and buy a better unit, just trying to avoid it since I just bought a house and am already bleeding money.
Thanx guys

Scour Craigslist, see what you come up with and within budget but very rarely do you find that smoking deal.... If you find something of interest post to here we can help
