I tried to right click a pic, copied image address, to send to my wife. She says she cannot open it. Why won't that work to share a picture?

I am on an Ipad. When I click on one of the thumbnail pictures it opens larger. At the top there are control selections that allow it to open even more. From that point I can do what I want with it. There are similar controls once clicked on if the picture is already page size. You can likely click around a bit knowing this to get it figured out on a pc or phone. I just checked. When I click on a thumbnail pic it opens to see it and has 7 selector buttons at top right on this tablet. There are also right and left arrows that allow me to click through every picture in that thread.

I can see pics here, no problem. I right click, copy image address, then paste that address in am email to her, she can't open it. I was just copying a short gif I thought was funny so she could see it. No go.
I just inserted this pic from postimage.org.

Once it is in GJ domain, you can't just link it elsewhere. That's the kind of link I sent my wife which she couldn't open. So does that mean, any picture/gif that you see on GJ cannot be shared elsewhere?

Usually you have to be logged in to see forum pictures

Just screenshot it. If you send her a link, when she clicks the link it will try to open the site because that's where the link points. If you download the pic or screenshot it, the pic is on your device and you can send, edit, whatever, with it.

Probably not if you're not logged in or a member of GJ.
The bandwidth to support that can be very expensive.
If I copy the image address and paste it into another browser not logged into GJ I get this.
Most apps now will support simply copy/paste of the image as GJ does.
As I said above. You have to have an account and be signed in to see the photographs that are being hosted on this website. You can't copy the link and take them somewhere else.
You can copy the pic itself as a JPEG and take it somewhere else though and that's what others are talking about doing.
I either save/download to my phone or do a screenshot if I need to.
