Currently using a retractible 13W flourescent tube (GX23 base) type Craftsman drop light - works OK but I don't think I'd miss the retractible cord...
Was considering some sort of rechargeable LED work light. Maybe a magnet mount? A hook to hang it from a hood with? Like the idea of being able to store it in an easy drop-in charging cradle when not in use so it's always charged and ready to go... Don't want to worry about delicate plug in ports/cables.
For example - Griot's has a Slim 'Wand-Style' LED Work Light w/ a magnetic base for $60. Maybe a tad high but usually their quality is good. But have to charge w/ a mini-USB I think - not drop in charging cradle. As grindy and dirty as some of my car projects can be - a USB port is probably not a good idea for my less than sterile garage projects and greasy hands.
Anybody have any recommendations? Or models to avoid?
Thanks,
