pretty sure these have been up before and people said they're pretty poor quality. round and twist on anything pretty tight.

Here's mine after trying to rebuild a BMW 2002 brake caliper. The HF version finished the job.

Every time these have been mentioned on the forum, someone who's tried them pops up and says that they're worse than being raped by Hitler and getting AIDS.

Have used them. Strange enough all the bits have a twist to them. Note I do not own them, so can't tell the entire back story of what they have seen. Would not purchase personally.

Terrible quality. Picked up a double Mac set off the truck a couple months ago, much better quality.

I had the same experience. I had one round off all the points on a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee caliper. Ended up buying the HF one as well to finish the job. The HF ones worked no problem!

Needed one to take the bed off a ranger. Broke it on the first go. Ended up driving way out of my way to get my snappies

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had bad luck with the Torx set. I used them years ago on a Jeep Wrangler to unbolt the front roll bars. The Torx bits got all chewed up. Are the HF ones any good? if they are I'm gonna get a set.

These are junk. Every time they are brought up there are plenty of complaints. They truly ****.

I'm pushing 4 years on the HF set no fails just twisting, but they see less use than my torx bits.

$17.99

Not sure if hot deal, but list price is $34.99

Edit:

After reading the reviews, I guess this is a "Hot Junk Deal" and not a "Hot Deal"

Meh. There's a bunch of different torx stuff. I've used lisle stuff before, I wouldn't call it "junk". I wouldn't use them with an impact gun though (maybe that's the issue). I wouldn't use an impact gun on anything torx or hex anyway.

That having been said. There are cheaper torx sets available everywhere even the one piece sets. The use is so rare for me I just buy individuals (whatever I can find) I have some ampro stuff, some husky stuff, and just keys. Maybe they use them more on euro cars; I rarely touch em and haven't noticed it.

I have used these too, sparingly on an impact even, and they have done well for the price.

Gearwrench has to be a rebrand. Someone else will have to confirm it.

The deal is...if it's a rebrand you can usually find it much cheaper with a "lesser" brand. If it's taiwan they're probably the same as a kobalt set. If it's china they're probably the same as a husky set.

Someone's gonna say otherwise but I'll call b.s. every time especially when the fit & finish is the same. It would have to be a reeeeeeeaaaaal good copy.

Remember, Lisle has two quality levels of bits. The cheap one pice and the more expensive two piece. If you want USA made bits that are still pretty affordable and don't ****, get the Lisle two piece bits.

Also remember, the bit sockets are excluded from GearWrench's lifetime warranty.

I've never seen em either. Then again, I've never had a problem with their stuff. It's not expensive either just the fit & finish is "undesirable".

Here's one set on Amazon:

Here you'll find a couple sets on the Lisle website:
