I need a good set of 3/8" drive Torx bits, specifically T30-55. I've found a set of Lisle on eBay, but not sure how they compare with others. Any recommendations on a set that has a good warranty?

Dnt buy the lisle if your goin to be using the a lot. They do break some what easy. Honestly snap ons the heavy duty ones anyway are pretty good. If you don't want to spend a **** load then buy the lisles. I use my a lot and have only broken the T40 and T45

Thanks for the information, looks like I'll stay away from the Lisle brand!

Lisle has two levels of sockets. They have the one-piece torx that people here are bashing.

But, they also have a more expensive two-piece torx set that claims to be 20% stronger. It's also made in the USA. I just bought a set, but I haven't used them yet.

The two pieces are ok for the money. Hell the one pieces are good for the money but you do not buy them for the set you buy them if you need a one piece disposatool. They are USA made and I would rather buy them than HF. A lot of people will never use Torx more than a few times and if that is what you are doing they are fine. If you are looking for a forever set go for something else (but really any Torx bits are going to go bad at some point if you use them much)

I have had the craftsman, lisle, snap on, sk and other industrial brands fyi. Only broken ones I have are lisle one pieces. (edit, i have had broken snap ons as the bit itself started to fall apart, but the lisle ones snapped in half, also the SK ones I have and the craftsman ones have gotten loose over the years)

I'd go with the two piece construction Lisle bits. Like others have stated I've also twisted some of the one piece constructions bits before and think they are not so good for tough daily use. Look at what S-K is offering or go with other brands too. I think Lisle makes some pretty good tools basic tools for most of it. I've own and use Lisle stuff (some used daily) and thought much of it was good for what it's intended for. A few things have left me disappointed though and those one piece torx bits are among them.

Yep, that's the size I kept having trouble with. One car with T55s all over it - brake calipers, wheel bearings, etc. Had to get a Snap On after twisting about one Lisle per bolt.

Most other sizes I gradually replaced with Craftsmans due to their easier availability.

One piece or two piece? I have two lisle two piece sets and one is about 15 years old and the other about 8 or so, bought the second one out of town and needed a set and sears had it in stock. Both sets are complete junk, if the bolt is stuck at all they look at the bolt and snap. Not sure how old yours are or if lisle ever made a quality one piece torx socket but they have been nothing but junk for the last 15 years.
