This morning I was at the swap meet as believe it or not I have never been before.

I came to what seemed like the only tool vender and was going up and down the rows till I came to some Lisle Metric hex sockets
I paid $16 for them and to boot they are made here in the USA

How is the quality of these compared to the truck brands and DIY grade like Craftsman or Harbor Freight?

I don't know about those but the lisle torx sockets that are all black are garbage. Hopefully your chrome hex sockets are better quality.

unfortunately, the ones I've used are not the best quality.
They are made for the DIY guy, for sure not the guy who uses them every day.
They're great for occasional light use for the price.

I wonder if there were changes, or maybe a few bad batch runs...I've had a set of the black Torx that were purchased almost 20 years ago, and they live a rough life in my mobile unit, get used hard - think hinge halves, seat belt anchors - and are still going strong....only one has any distortion - the T47, which had to be bought separately from the set....come to think of it, I got it much later than the set....like 10 years later...
