What are the differences...mechanically...between the 160lb and 440lb rated Lista Drawers? Different construction? Same Drawer different slides? etc..

Your timing couldn't have been better. I saw your post this morning and as luck would have it got three lista cabinets today. Two if them are rated for the 440 and the other 160. So I grabbed a couple pic's for you. As you can see it's all in the slide, nothing else changes.

That is correct LXCam. The only difference is in the actual slide which is much beefier in the 440 lb. version.

* The NW and NS format (16-7/8" wide) cabinets only have the 165 lb suspension.

* The MP and CL ( 22-3/16" wide) cabinets can have either the 165 lb. or the 440 lb. suspension.

* All other Lista cabinets have the 440 lb. suspension.

not that i could ever afford one of these, but how much of a price increase is the better slide? seems it would fetch a premium.

Check the GOV auction site's

Having used both I prefer the Vidmar they are a little more heavily built but either are great. You would be surprised how many times they show up on CL,EBAY and the gov auctions and go for far less then new.
