Hi guys,

I want to make sure your questions are getting answered and I've been happy to see many of you asking questions and then others answer them in my place, because honestly you are the user so in a lot of instances you'd know best how to use things and why.

Having said that, I am going to try and cover a topic once a month next year. So, lay it on me, what kind of information do you want to hear about from Lista? Are you curious about contruction? Manufacturing? Tell me and I'll pick the top 12 topics before the New Year.

As I said in the beginning, I'm not here to push Lista but rather to answer questions and help out where I can and think that these twelve posting next year will hopefully do just that.

Thanks in advance and keep the photos coming, I love seeing them! Please don't take offense if I don't respond right away, it's a crazy time of year.

Yours truly-
Linda @Lista :)

Great ideas! Currently, we do have a video about how our drawers are made but I'll work on something more broad

I don't know if this is the kind of topic you want to get into on this forum. With your presence here and the Lista Xpress portion of the website, I assume you would like to market to smaller consumers. As one of those types, I find it somewhat annoying that there is no pricing listed on the pre-configured cabinets. I am not someone that is going to call or e-mail in order to get a price that should have been posted along with the product. I simply navigate to a different manufacturers site. I'm pretty sure that an overwhelming majority of consumers feel the same way.

@Al Bundy, I understand your frustration. I would be frustrated too. But I'm also looking at the other side and see that we're lucky to have reps and distributors who aren't salesy and sleasy. What I mean is, if you call one of them up and ask a question about a price they'll give it to you. Sure they might ask you a couple questions about why you're interested in such and such a product, but I think those are valid questions.

Also, I think it's a benefit to everyone to be able to work with a person who will give you the price they are working with and not one stadard price within which there is no wiggle room, for anyone.

If you don't want to speak with anyone, I can understand why. You can send that quick e-mail over to our inside sales department and they will simply send you back a quote.

I think you've got some great options. I can understand why you are frustrated but truly, our goal is to be fair to everyone and I hope you can see both side of the coin.

Thank you for writing.

Thank you for the response. I don't mean to be critical of your business model, I am merely suggesting that the B2B model is completely different than marketing to the guy who wants one cabinet for his home shop. I would certainly welcome the opportunity to speak directly to a rep. if I were buying 15 cabinets for my fabrication business. But as a small consumer I don't want to negotiate the price of a cabinet. I simply want to press "add to cart", fill in my credit card info and have my cabinet show up a few days later on a UPS truck.

I know, trust me I get it. And you're right, selling to a warehouse and a one man shop are two compeletly different areas.

I also know that I might be told that even bringing these things up and engaging on these kinds of boards might be a waste of time but I really don't think it is. I, personally, want to understand how you guys think, what your feedback is, etc. There are definitelly some things that I won't be able to change, like the buying process, but if you have an issue with a cbainet you own, I might be able to escalate the issue and actually have somone get back to you.

That's why I'm here, to help in any way that I can.

Al, this is exactly why I got involved with online communities and GJ. Simply "adding to cart" you might be paying way over what a distributor will discount for you. Lista sells through a distribution channel for this reason. Some distributors discount, some don't. I've been on GJ for 2 years and my goal is to see that members here as well as my other clients get a good price, commercial grade solutions, and most importantly, a single go to person. I'll be happy to price out anything you want. Quotes are free.

You know i am thinking that if Linda would model some of the toolboxes they would sell better ;)
The lady is at work and she is sharing information that people here may be interested in. Try to be classy.

I like the how its made type video. I would also love to hear what makes one box better than another such as steel grade or slider types.

i wasn't going to post that but i though the same thing. i find that company that dont list prices are usually very high in price. however, with these times of the internet and quick ordering, these older company are very slow to adopt to new marketing and online sales. they are loosing money by doing that but its usually the upper management that makes these calls.

linda, are you allowed to post prices on public forums? you guys make some very very nice boxes its just sad that you can never find prices. i 99% of the time just dont bother buying if i cant quickly order what i want online.

OK this is horrible and I apologize in advance, but I'm going to post it anyway because it at least gives the thread a bump.

I think Lista should list a price even if it's a list price.

You do have nice products and I also like the how it's made idea. The video on the drawers was pretty interesting. I'd like to see one for the entire cabinet.

I am still waiting for side lockers and hutches form Lista before I buy. The boxes are great but I must have a locker and hutch.

Thanks for your comments guys, classy or not :)
I'll get cracking on these videos and see what I can come up with. In the mean time I'll see if there is a white paper around here somewhere that you can at least get your hands on.

Hi guys, so is the manufacturing aspect your main interest? Anything else that you're curious about in regards to how we make our products? The more ideas I get the higher the likelihood that I can execute one or two of them :)

Hi Marcusicp, you should give one of our distributors or sales reps a call and see if there are any new options for you in terms of the sidelockers.

I live fairly closer to Holliston. Do you ever have a scratch and dent sale?

technically Lista doesn't, but motorhead extraordinaire has "junk yard" specials which are essentialy that. I just bought a DW cabinet from there, damn those things are big.

Just a happy customer, no stake in the game.

I can't wait to finish organizing my new garage. Moved last year and of course the two car garage became the staging area for everything that was in the garage/attic/basement of the old house.

There will soon be Lista cabinets to replace the mish mash of tool chests and shelves holding fifty years of auto restoration tools and supplies.

This equipment is truly first class. Worked in shops of very large oil refineries, all mechanic's work areas, tool/part/fasteners were 100% Lista. Perfect condition 30 years later. Plant is being decommissioned this year, might be able to get some cabinets at auction?

Thanks for keeping an American success story going strong.

Thanks for the comment CJKaz. If you have any photos of the Lista product you end up placing in your garage, I'd love to see them!

We have been a distributor of LISTA for over 6 years and we discount to small and large shops alike. We also have an exclusive arrangement with LISTA to sell all of their freight returns, cancelled orders, show returns, etc. We sell these brand new cabinets at about half price. Many of our customers build their shops over time using our Junk Yard Specials, as we call them. We are at the LISTA factory every few weeks processing another lot of cabinets.

We are very knowledgeable about LISTA and can help with any design, service, installation, or support issue.

Linda,

We have an arrangement with LISTA to sell off all of the scratch and dent stuff, in addition to returns, cancelled orders, and show demos. The program is called Junk Yard Specials and your sales department and customer support can provide you information on this program. We have been doing this with LISTA exclusively for the past 5+ years during which time we have helped LISTA sell over 1600 pieces under this program.

I am at LISTA every few weeks processing another lot and would like to meet you. Can you drop me a PM so we can arrange.

Regards,
Joe Germann

Motorhead Extraodinaire, if you can get a line on one of the Mopar cabinets, I'm definitely interested. I work in Holliston and live in Sherborn so I could pick it up, if that's possible.

ct71rr,

There are a lot of different cabinets types that have been painted in the Mopar blue. We installed a dealership in Maine last year that was all Mopar blue. It looked fantastic. That is a very specific blue and we only see specialty colors like that in our Junk Yard Specials on rare occasions.

We have a really big toolbox in Blaze Blue coming up shortly. Blaze Blue is a new color used in the Toolbox product line.

What are you looking for in a cabinet configuration ?

Linda, is there some place I can go to actually see a Lista Technician box? I'll probably be buying a roll cab type toolbox soon, and the model 750 triple bank is pretty much what I'm looking for. But I don't think I could part with my money without actually seeing what I'm buying.

I went to a Lista distributor in Knoxville, TN last time I was home, but they didn't have any in stock. The guy I talked to also made it clear that the price on the website was not what he would charge, which tells me he means to go higher. Is it possible to order directly from Lista at the price on the website?

Hi there, where are you located exactly? This will help me narrow down a distributor for you. As for buying from Lista, all you need to do is fill out a quote request on our listabox.com site and someone from our inside sales department will contact you to get more info.

Good morning! Glad you're thinking about our technician series toolboxes. Well, it really depends on what kind you are looking for. I took a quick gander yesterday and the smallest is the Model 750 single bank full depth box which is 28.5" deep and then they just get bigger from there. You can also go with a model 750 double bank, http://listabox.com/model-750/double-bank/specs.php, triple bank, two bay and then go on to the model 900 single bank full depth and so on :)
Soooo many options :shocking:
Linda
