I purchased a lista cabinet a year ago for almost nothing. I am considering getting 2-3 more for storage under my work bench. I found 2 for sale locally. What’s a fair price? I would probably paint all 3 of them black or something. They don’t have many drawer dividers included. Not sure I would need too many of them anyways though.

Going rate for a long time was a hundred bucks a drawer if everything was in good shape. The last couple years screwed the pooch on that rule of thumb.

Those are the older style cabinets with unobtainium slides. But they look to be in really good shape. I think a fair offer might be $500 & $700

Yep - that's about right. Aside from parts availability for the older cabinets, many Lista (or similar like Lyon) cabinets have lived a hard life in industrial settings. You might get lucky and find something out of a research lab.

The time it takes to clean-up and "restore" a beater Lista cabinet can be a huge time ****. I bought one used and after that, the next two were new. I sucked it up and paid through the nose since I was impatient.

+1.

And if the are in decent shape they are worth every penny at that price.

All the older cabinets I have dealt with had a few stiff or even skidding drawer chassis bearing but they all responded extremely well to washing the old grease out with brake cleaning and relubricating with a needle attachment in a grease gun.
