Hi everyone. After tons of work, patience, and money, I am finally “done” with my garage. I’m a full time BMW tech and have been doing metal fabrication for some time now. I was aiming for a clean, simple, spacious workshop at home so with that being said, here’s what I came up with.

74A73887-A87D-47D0-AF4B-D150606E02C0.jpeg314EB0AF-5838-4113-9853-3372DDB288B2.jpegD84BC873-6E46-4AD2-AA42-120426FC6EA1.jpeg8F561884-B104-4D61-8366-9632C3859153.jpeg42C2BB0B-51CD-4882-9E05-3D68FE2BC9C6.jpeg

The garage is split in half and the front is where I keep my main box (husky lol) , another Lista and one vidmar. I’ll post pictures of the front half at a later time this week.
I’ve gotten tons of inspiration from you guys here on garage journal with your Lista setups. It has helped me stay focused and optimistic with this build, so thank you, truly. Hope you guys enjoy.

VERY nice! Simple set up, high quality choices, all laid out without clutter. are both of those vises mounted to the bench that way for a reason? Or is the far one just sitting there?

Thank you!! So about the vises lol… they are mounted next to each other just because both are Chicago Morgan’s… one being a 40 and the other a 140. I realized that having them both on the workbench especially so close to one another is absolutely pointless and that in order to maintain a clean workshop I have to let things go lol. So after I read your comment yesterday I immediately removed the smaller one and put it in storage. It was a quick reminder to not just keep things out because it looks cool or matches lol. Anyways lol there’s my reasoning hahha.

Head over to the vise thread you will quickly see that two vises isnt even close to enough in a clamping/holding emergency! FYI I have four vises mounted on my bench and probably six more just sitting on top. Two is dangerously low for a shop like yours. Feel free to sell me your other one if you're going to let it sit in storage lolbench 1.jpeg

Nice looking work space
I'm questioning the location of the power saw being up on the step. Is it mobile so if you need to cut a longer piece of pipe , will it move to give the room needed? Just asking for a friend lol

I have the exact same pair. The 140 came out of the original Lockheed Skunk Works in Burbank & the 40 came out of the later location in Palmdale.

A small update on the garage shop. Added Milwaukee pack out wall storage and Rubbermaid FastTrack wire shelving. I told myself in the beginning that I did not want to clutter the walls but I’ve now deemed it necessary… especially in a small workspace. And it gives me an excuse to splurge a little. These products can be bought at your local Home Depot/Walmart. They are not cheap but if you enjoy a modular storage system that’s easy to install and fulfills your OCD, then this is it.

Another update. Here is the front portion of my little garage. More of Milwaukee’s Modular Packout system on top of my trusty Heavy Duty Husky which I’ve used everyday for the past 8 years or so, and Stanley Vidmars to the right that I scored a year ago from the son of a deceased machinist.

This is where I house all of my automotive tools (Snap On and Icon) which faces the driveway where I do the wrenching.

Looking out into the driveway. My Bendpak LR-60 that I got a couple months ago for $550! Love this thing so much. I’ve had BMW e30s to X6s on it without ever having any problems. And my e46 m3 next to it.
The pressure washer is a Landa LT5030 paired with a 230V 6.2HP Baldor Motor that flows 5 GPM and produces 3000 PSI. It’s an absolute beast and extremely quiet which is the primary reason I got it.

Nice workspace.
Did you know someone snuck a yellow tool in your wall mounted pack out?
Hahaha, hear me out. It’s a 12v 1/2” impact. Probably the strongest little cordless gun I’ve ever used. Takes 90ftlb wheel nuts off in 2 seconds. I have yet to own a 1/2” Milwaukee because of this thing but maybe I’ll buy one and compare one day.

Also wanted to show you guys the amazing storage space of these Listas and Vidmars. For anyone looking to get declutter, BUY ONE!!! It took me about 6 months to accumulate 6 Listas (1 massive one in the backyard) and 2 Vidmars. I would stalk Marketplace and Offer-up for hours everyday until one would pop up. The average price I’d score one was between $50-$300. Some were from estate sales and others just random one off listings. One thing I’ve learned when dealing is to show up with cash and a truck/trailer, ready to go. I bought two Listas for $50 a piece this way. But anyways, these are easily some of the best purchases I’ve ever made in regards to tools/storage.

How do you like that Primeweld 225? Brown Santa just delivered mine a week ago and I haven't had time to swap my existing bottle of C25 for argon yet.

Love it. Wouldn’t have bought anything else. I’ve owned it for over 3 years now and I’ve seriously never had a single issue. Only “complaint” is that the fan is a bit loud. I’m not sure if there’s a low/high setting to it but it definitely sounds like it’s on high all the time. Minor complaint and should not deter anyone from this fantastic machine. I’m actually going to be ordering a Primeweld mig 180 soon as well. Pictures of some work.

Nice space, sweet cabinets and great pictures!!

You must live somewhere warm lol. No way I could leave my pressure hose mounted outside and have it function for more than a few months.

I've been watching for Lista stuff up here and either haven't been quick enough to find it or it doesn't exist here. I'd love to find a couple nice cabinets like yours to keep stuff in !!

Finished painting the Lista I bought a couple of days ago. Used the same color I did on my other Listas, 3 coats semi gloss black and 3 coats satin clear. I’ve experiented with numerous combos and this one gives it just the “right” sheen. Also, the new rustoleum cans are awesome. 5 different spray patterns. I used the wide vertical spray.

So, I came upon 5 Lyon MSS cabinets. I couldn’t pass this deal up. Girlfriend came with, got a uhaul trailer, and loaded them up.

I don’t even know where these are going. I’m debating about selling them if anyone in the Las Vegas area is interested.

Where do you guys find all these Lista cabinets? The few times I've ever seen them for sale has been on Craigslist and the asking prices are astronomical. I REALLY need some to replace the P.O.S. melamine particle board things in my garage. I've painted them all to match and they "work" for my purposes but I'm almost ashamed of how cheap-*** they are!

I ended up trading my friend two of the Lyon cabinets for this double bank Vidmar with stainless top. Came out of a hospital so it’s in great shape. I always remove the side lock and drawer locks on all my listas and vidmars. Can’t stand them. I haven’t had a cabinet tip over yet, cross my fingers*

The backyard will need some planning on how I want to configure everything. I plan on building a lean to type shade structure which I’ll document when the time comes.
My big Lista and the 3 Lyons. Using the house as reference, look how massive they are lol!
