Lista ? Stanley Vidmar? Or who?

So this cabinet followed me home today, the only tag on it is Van Dorn with a number. Google tells me Van Dorn was a filing cabinet maker in the 40’s thru the 60’s no reference to Van Dorn making anything like this, but the Van Dorn script is the same on this tag as the tags I saw online for the filing cabinets. The slides and construction look like the lista I got recently, I have never seen a Stanley Vidmar before to compare.

I’m no expert nor do I know, but it looks like a Vidmar I got that had been military surplus.

Not Vidmar, handles look more like LISTA but not LISTA either. Vidmar handles are not full width. And LISTA handles are integrated with the drawer front and not bolted.

Very old LISTAS have handles that are held in place with allen screws.

jdsac and sponfit nailed it - older Lista cabinets have that style handle.

I have had a 13 drawer version for a few years and wasn't able to ID it either. Now I know where to look for parts.

My LISTAS are so old that they were made in Switzerland- you can't wear them out- just give the bearings a sot of white grease.

How old is old? The handles are held on by Allen heads, after some googling I found out Van Dorn had a casting plant in Cleveland OH so I am thinking the tag was an asset tag for Van Dorn.

Will Lista and Stanley Vidmar drawer dividers interchange as long as they are the same size?

My vote is older Lista. Full width handles with holes like yours.
Also, lock is centered in cab.
