Sorry, couldn’t find the Marketplace thread. Here’s a nice little heavy duty modular cabinet for a tenth of what they cost new. In White Lake Mi. No affiliation

Thanks for posting this - just sent the guy a message. Hoping it's not too heavy for 2 guys to easily lift into the back of a station wagon!

Remove the drawers to lighten it up.

Sometimes the simplest things slip the mind.

Going to pick it up tonight (if schedule allows) or tomorrow afternoon if not. Looks super clean.

It's a Rousseau. As a Canadian (living in the US) I'm extra excited. :lol_hitti

Nice cabinet, GForceJunky.

I just bought a Tekton toolbox (rebadged Rousseau) and I am extremely happy with it. The drawer carrier system looks exactly the same. Pretty heavy duty stuff, particularly at that price listed.

Got it for $100 and have it home now. It doesn't have casters but it has slots for forks to lift it and in those slots are a variety of holes for casters of various patterns. Planning to add some swivel casters with breaks.

This thing is HEAVY. Honestly, I'd peg it at easily 1/3 the weight my USG 72" chest was empty (~530lbs). Even with all 4 drawers out it's a real pain to move. It's not in perfect shape but it's in very good shape. Metal s very thick and solid. Zero flex in anything whatsoever. I now fully understand the appeal of the Tekton/Rousseau toolboxes now. Can only imagine trying to move their big boy boxes.

If it’s built like a Lista or a Vidmar, which the slide looks like it is, $100 is an absolute steal. Those sell at auction between 500-1000 regularly.

I’m super glad someone here grabbed it. I was considering it myself but I’m running out of room and need to get organized before any other purchases. Congrats again GFJ!

ooba and Gforce

Great teamwork!

Assist from Scrounge on moving it!

Thanks. It was a nice alley-oop of a purchase! Seems like all the good FBMP/CL deals posted in this forum are typically in California, so it was nice to have one local.

In my limit experience it definitely seems to be. I figure it would probably go for at least $500 used normally, which is more than I'm willing to pay, so at $100 I thought why not.

Thanks again for the tip! Don't even think he had any real hits on it - at least not from talking to him, but it had only been up 3 or 4 days. I don't have any space for this either, but at $100 I'll throw some casters on it and figure it out. Maybe I'll use it as a cart for a benchtop drill press or my Dewalt planer or something.

I take it you're somewhat close to me if this was in your feed. I'm in Detroit!

Even better! Smoking deal for a cabinet that are usually cleaner than a Lista or Vidmar, I've had all three and the Rousseau (the heavy industrial version) is one of my very favorite compared to all of them.

They also tend to retain a higher resale value and sell quickly.

You did very well and you owe ooba tooba

How did you find the stones to throw an offer out on it? I spared my wife and didn't go for it, a good buddy of mine lives just a few miles away and would have instantly paid for it (while also going back to help me load it). I don't know if I spared my wife or if I spared myself from my wife.

Yeah, you ****.

I'd suggest not putting casters on it unless it's one-drawer-at-a-time. You can put a ton of weight in those and casters mean a higher CoG plus super slidy drawers means a big tipping hazard.

Definitely owe him one! It's a nice unit for sure but there is some weird plastic film or something stuck to it in a bunch of places. Doesn't really bother me too much since it doesn't affect functionality but it's kind of ugly so I'll have to see if I can get it off. It's in great shape otherwise though - no dents or dings and no rust!

Figured if he's selling it for $125 already he just wants it gone - what's $25 less? I was fully prepared to pay the $125 if he said no. Covered my gas to go there and back to get it. Thanks for leaving it for me! :lol_hitti

Haha I'll take the suckage. I've had the bug for a while, just not the budget or the cooperative wife (can someone explain to me how to adequately convey the difference in quality between the run of the mill big-box China **** and Rousseau/Lista/Vidmar/Snap-On (higher end models)/etc.?), but at this price it was too hard to say no and I had some extra cash hanging around from selling some stuff on FB MP, so I could get away with it. Cheaper than buying or building any sort of half decent stand for my planer too!

Suckage noted. Haha....

It can have multiple drawers open at once, but I won't be using it in a way where I'll be accessing what's inside of it much. Putting small diameter/high weight capacity (250lbs + per wheel) casters on it and going to use it as a planer cart/misc. wood shop accessory storage unit. I will keep that in mind though and make sure to keep the heaviest stuff on the bottom and the lightest on top to minimize the chance of that ever happening. With the DW735X on top I don't see it being too easy to tip, unless I've got a couple hundred pounds in each drawer.
