Lista Vidmar Carts + Wilson Dayton Lights

I was looking on CL at lunch time today and spotted and ad for metal carts. Turned out to be 3 Vidmar and 1 Lista carts/cabinets. They all had caster wheels 2 of the Vidmar are 5 drawer and the Lista and other Vidmar a 3 drawer with an open bottom. No wasting time overthinking it. I emailed them and was on my way with in 15min. Told work I had to run and errand on my lunch. They are well used but at $90 for all 4 of them which included a $5 tip for the guy loading them with his forklift. I could not resist. Back at work and they are in the bed of my truck. I will post some better pics when I get them home.

Well $85 for all 4 plus a $5 tip for loading them. So yes $90 for all 4!

I just realized I screwed the guy $20. I thought I did and asked him before I left and he said no you gave me $90. But I just realized he gave me 2 tens becasue I only had 20's. So I just called him and he said if I wanted to come by and give it back to him that was fine but if not don't worry about it. But I am stopping by on my way home and giving him the $20. Whats right is right.

A few more pics. The bottom of the Lista cart looks rusty but it is actually some kind of brown grease.

I am thinking of removing the side handles and bolting the 3 Vidmars together then bolting on a wood top.

I also happen to just pick up for zero $ a 72"x30" wood top. It looks like butcher block not sure what kind of wood it is. They were bench tops at some kind of assembly plant and the wood is very hard.

I was just sitting here trying to figure the best layout for the casters. Each cabinet has 2 fixed and 2 swivel casters.

Well I was running a little late yesterday so I did not get to drop by and give the guy the $20. So I called him to tell him I would be by this morning. He told me he had a few other items he had not listed yet if I wanted take a look at them in the morning. Not anywhere near the deal I got on the cabinets but figuried I would show them anyway $50 for the Wilton, $25 for the Dayton grinder and $5 each for the lights.

Just to make sure I've got this right . . . you're at $175 plus the bench top wood thus far for following:
4 Lista Vidmar tool cabinets - - $90
Wilton vise - - - - - - - - - - - $50
Bench grinder - - - - - - - - - $25
Lights (qty 2) - - - - - - - - - $10

. . . . AND result will be 72" long butcher-block topped Lista's ??!!!##@@!!

That my friend right there is a BONA FIDE . . . . YOU **** !!

Having one of the Lista cabinets mobile to bring tools next to a project will be great compliement to the 72" bench full of Lista's. Excellent setup.

Seriously, please inflict further pain / garage envy and show us the build towards the restored finished product. Congrats!

Your math is correct my good sir. I was thinking of disassembling the cabinets, painting them then sanding the top and assembling everything. But I just don't have the time for that right now. But I don't want them just sitting around so I am going to figure out how I want the casters set up and then just assemble the whole thing without any painting or refinishing.

I still have the Vidmars. I had one Lista cabinet/cart that came with the Vidmars I sold it and made back more than I spent on everything I bought. Right now I have the 3 vidmar just pushed together with the free harwood bench top I got sitting on top. With my $20 swap meet Wilton Vise sitting on it. Have not repainted them. Still considering it though. I will try and snap a picture.

Sold the Wilton I bought with this score and a few of the lights. I should do the math and figure out what I made.
