Have thought of doing the same (maybe not that many square feet), but never came up with a way to finish it. Wouldn't mind seeing the finished product.

I saw this done with the US Penny about 10 years ago..
looked amazing..


ETA, the floor that I saw used BLACK epoxy grout to fill the space between the pennies..

Does the government still prosecute people that do stuff like this? I haven't followed the subject lately.

I think actual copper would look better than zinc alloy AKA "pot metal".

no. it's often misunderstood, but the intent of the law is to prevent altering coins and then reusing them as legal tender. as long as you don't intend to spend them, you can do pretty much what you want, like making coin rings or tokens from those machines at the fair/museums...

yeah you can't melt down for PM content...though many of us hoarding expect that to change some day...maybe...lol.

I've always wanted to do one of these projects. Thought it was a go for kitchen backsplash, but then wife decided otherwise. There's some really cool pics of a couple showers someone did with pennies.
