During this past summers local big car show, the Syracuse Nationals, I asked the interstate battery rep if they had any of them for sale. He gave a long winded answer basically saying no. He didn't believe in the technology yet and wanted to wait to see how many problems there were with them after some real world use. I had to keep my mouth shut, evidently he doesn't know some supercars come from the factory with LiPo batteries. Like a Porsche GT3.... Some people just have trouble accepting new technology I guess.

The Boeing 787 isn't making lithium batteries popular

Another advantage is the polarity protection on the unit we got from NAPA. If you hook in up wrong it will not jump and blow up you sensitive electrical stuff. If the battery is below 3V you need to press the jump button to override this feature, then you will be allowed to blow up you sensitive electrical stuff. Our unit seems to work fine, just wish the cables were a little more durable and longer. Bluefuel, I think is the brand.

Do y'all leave these in your car? My wife had a dead battery a month ago, and I'm considering picking one of these up for her.

Not sure if it can be damaged if it's left in the car during the summertime and 90-100 degree weather.

I have seen many brands tested and some if left unused have a shelf lif of 6 months before you can no longer use them.

I guy at work used his to jump my car the other day. As we talked about it, he did mention he periodically does a "maintenance charge" to keep it ready. I think his jump set was a Stanley and also had a air compressor built in.
