Are these safe to store in the car throughout the hot summer? Will the battery get damaged?

I usually leave under seat or truck in case so heat does not build up away from sunlight and never had an issue

I don't know. It's got Chinese lithium battery in it. Hopefully it's better than those hover boards that were catching fire. 
I have one at work but, I don't keep it in the car. It was 116 here yesterday. I know it's stupid but, I just don't trust it.

These are the "latest" thing to hit the "tool" market, which means that even though all of them come from China, the quality is all over the place.
