Lithonia Wraplite 3348 wiring outside fixture

I saw a reference to having to connect wiring outside the fixture in a box in another thread. W have 16 of these that I was going to use but after seeing this am about to return.

I will be putting up a metal ceiling so cutting holes for boxes combined with having to put in boxes that don't match up with rafters may be too mush of a pain in the bottom.

HomeDepo web page is not very good at showing detailes on the lighting & Lithonis page doesn't even list these lights. So what is the best deal for T8 lights that can be wired in the fixture?

Lithonia does have the model 3348 on their website:

However, the spec sheet doesn't specifically say anything about whether the wiring has to be done outside the fixture - I haven't personally worked with this specific fixture but that would be unusual. Did the fixtures come with an instruction sheet?

Site is a bit confusing in not being consistent with content delivery. If this doesn't work let s know.
