Little chainsaw chains

I have a stihl 029super but wanted a smaller saw for the wife. I picked up an 18v 10" saw for her. I forgot about the low kickback chains! She said it doesn't cut worth a darn, so now I'm looking for a semi-chisel blade, but I'm not seeing any. Are they all anti-kickback? I really don't want to spend a day grinding on this chain. Does anyone have a chain they are happy with? Got a model number? Thanks in advance.

Just my opinion, but the chain isn't causing the thing to cut poorly compared to a Stihl gas unit.

Seems like an odd size, all I'm seeing is reduced kickback.

I'd get the Oregon chain and roll with it.

I saw a utube video yesterday by a tree feller, he was using a B&D cordless chain saw, looked like a toy. He took down a pine tree. He was i guess doing it on a dare or something, and was somewhat surprised at the battery life and cutting ability. Clearly the chain was sharp.

Found it.

Sorry, I can't wrap my head around having the need/desire for a super aggressive chain while running a battery 10" Ryobi saw.

It's not Black and Decker, it's an Echo. Pretty easy to make that mistake as they both look to be the same shade of orange.

I went to my farm and fleet parts counter and the kid there spouted a few fancy numbers for my Milwaukee and Boom, new chain. He was good, very good and I'm sure there's one near you.

My wife won a Stihl GTA 26 “Garden Pruning Saw”. It’s only something like 4.6 inches, but she loves it. She also has the Milwaukee Combi pole saw, and I have the Dewalt 10” 20v.

None of them can totally replace the larger gas saws, but they all cut fine with the safety chain.

I actually planned to look for more aggressive chains, but after thinking about it I decided to not pursue it. These little saws are used mostly to cut small diameter limbs and trees or bushes, and I think a more aggressive chain would be “grabby” and prone to kickback. More so than a more powerful saw with a higher linear chain speed. They’re also more likely to be used for overhead or out of position cutting.

I decided maybe the engineers knew what they were doing.

If you can use a narrow kerf chain I think this is what you're looking for. I'd measure your current chain/bar to confirm.

I think they call it or similar to? a 'full house chain'. I been using the Milwakee 6" (m12)for the last 3yrs and now the 8"(m18). On oak. Ridiculous sized pieces of oak. The saw(s) cut well. I had no business cutting what I did but I wanted to see what they'd do and they performed well. I tried different chain on the 6" but didn't like. Milwakee chain only for me.

As for kickback, I found most of the time when I got kickback it was due to the limb or log collapsing and pinching the kerf towards the end of the cut. So, stop cutting when you see the gap start to close. You can feel the saw tighten up too.

As for a 10-12" saw I've been wanting the Echo 2500T for a while. I just can't justify the price.

I got one little chainsaw off amazon for less than 100 bucks, that i use to cut limbs so they fit in the can. Love that mini chainsaw and get yourself some power pruner too saves a ton time and effort

Cheap and low quality but wasnt expecting much surpassed thus far.

Is it making chips or sawdust? Sharpen it and file the rakers, should be good to go. You want to see a small, almost useless chain, check out the Stihl pole saws. Holy ****, but they will cut when they are sharp. 12", 64DL, .250 Pitch, .043, 1/8" file.
