I've been wanting to get a few new sets of vise grips here of late. So I found some on eBay from Cripe Distributing. I've been ordering a few things from them here of late as well, and it's off their eBay listings. They usually describe their tools pretty good especially the USA merchandise. Well when my USA 10R's came in today... I could tell they looked a little different. They didn't have the "made in usa" on the handle like my other pairs. The package has the made in usa posting on it, BUT... "With global components" in small print under it. Anyways.... It's not the end of the world, but this is the only place I could rant a little about it I guess. Maybe I should of did my homework a little more before purchasing them. Oh we'll lesson learned. I'll still buy from them in the future no doubt, but I figured they would of at least MAYBE have mentioned that in the description of the vise grips instead of "Irwin Vise-Grip 10R USA"... :(

"Global Parts" is better than the current Made in China offerings sold since around 2006 and up IIRC.

If it has a 5mm hex opening in the adjustment screw end it's Chinese.

No hole but no USA stamp then global.

The global parts units are fine by me as I have many with no failures and problems. But then again, I don't own a "way back" machine to go back in time and buy those made in the 50's and 60's with USA stamp. :)

I find what I can of the old ones but sites like GJ have folks snapping them up and ebaying them that never would have thought twice about them.

Ever since i started buying vise grip brand (i started the trade in 04) they all said global components. Just because they dont say usa on the handle does not mean they are chinese. I have dozens that have no stamp but were usa when i bought them.
