I just figured I would share my good fortune with you all. I just purchased a Little Giant 17 foot ladder for $130 out the door. It came with the wheel set, the cargo hanging thing, and the little platform for holding paint cans and all that stuff. Original price was listed at $280. Yay for me!

I've got two. One fiberglass (man is that one heavy), and one aluminum.
My father just bought a newer lightweight style one.

As an A frame ladder, they're awesome (and it's nice to have a two sided A frame).
As an extension ladder, they're kinda bouncy. There was a video I saw once that showed how some flex and bounce in the center joint could cause the feet to slip out from under you when used as an extension ladder. Supposedly the newer joint designs have been made stronger. I haven't had any issues, but I make sure the feet are well planted, and usually use one of my extension ladders if at all possible anyway.

Yeah I have seen that genius in that video before. We use the little giant ladders at work, so I am familiar with them. I will be certain to read the manual carefully before use as a refresher.

Oh yeah, its not the 13 footer, its the 17 footer. I didn't read the label so well. Score!

Cool. Mine are the 17' variety too. The 9' A frame is the most solid A frame ladder I've been on that that kind of height. It's the best way for me to reach the underside of my garage's roof (in front of the loft).

Ill be hanging christmas lights sooner or later with it, and I have a couple projects in the house I need the ladder for.

I like them, but they can be tough on your feet with their narrow rungs. Step ladders are wider and extensions are easier to extend and don't flex as much, but Little Giant are the best built for an all in one. Either way good score.

I have two of the Little Giant 22 ft ladders and they are very versatile. I use them on stairwells. Only real downside is the weight

The articulating style ladder shown in the you tube video have been subject to several lawsuits and recalls over the years for safety defects. I have used them but you have to be diligent about making sure the articulating joints are properly locked into place for the ladder to be safe. I've stopped using them because while I think I do a good job checking, I'm less confident of friends, family and co-workers doing the same and I would hate to be responsible for providing a tool that was responsible for someone's injury even if the user failed to read the instructions.

Oh, a few years back I read that the best thing that men over the age of 50 can do for their health is stay off of ladders. Apparently, ladder related accidents are a leading cause of injuries and death in men over 50 years old.

My Dad brought home a Little Giant ladder from a trade show going on 30 years ago. He paid a huge amount for it at the time I remember, and I grew up using that ladder. That old ladder is bullet proof. Totally heavy duty. It still gets used all the time.

I have the HD version of the little giant. I only have two ladders, the gorilla ladder and one fiberglass one for working on electrical. I think I bought the first one from my store when I worked at HD. Remodeled three houses with it. I have a strong dislike for those articluating ones, got my hand pinched good just stocking one on the shelf. Never sold a single one of them, always sold the little giant style. That is a hell of a good price for a little giant with accessories.
