The wife left for christmas vacation a week before I did so I used the opportunity to build my son a garage in his bedroom. I finished most of the actual construction and then had the kids help paint, install the marble track and, steal tools while I wired up the lights on the inside and out.

Built out of the Home Depot scraps bins and includes a marble track that runs around the walls. His grandfather got him the black and decker setup for christmas after I told them what I was doing.

All told not a bad way to spend $47

PS I hope it's ok to post this in the big boys garage's forum

That's really cool for your son, great idea. Guess you have to build him another one when he outgrows that one.

I must say that's a very good thinking on your part as it would make it to be a very good thing to have a good experience. It is such small things that nourishes the thoughts. I wonder if it would get bigger with the passing of time.
