When we started looking to buy our first house, my one requirement was a garage/shop of some sort. This is not what I expected to end up with in the end, but the combination of the house, land, and location sold us on this place. Here's the exterior..

Rough looking little garage, right? The pole has to go. The doors need replacing. The lower two rows of lumber on the side are rotten and need replacing.

And yeah, it needs a good coat of paint.

The inside was a freakin mess...

I spent the better part of a day cleaning the inside and working to get the doors open. I had to dig the dirt away from them in spots, pretty sure they haven't been opened in a while

Also installed 2 LED lights.

(Notice how the beer bottle collection grows)

Just enough room to get some work done..

Lights at night. One light on far left, one on far right. I still need to add one in the center. Very happy with these lights.

I'm still bringing things into the garage, not sure what it will look like when I'm done. I'm not sure if I want to take down the wall-length work bench or not. I wouldn't mind the extra room and something that looks a bit nicer, but damn it's sturdy. I'm going to leave that wall last when I start insulating and finishing the walls so I can think on it.

This won't be a high budget garage makeover, but I want to look decent. I'm also very new to any type of construction, so this thread is also to ask for advice. All input/advice/recommendations welcome.

Lots of organizing to do. Gotta get rid of all the extension cords and hanging wires. Right now we still aren't living in the house yet so my time working on the garage is very limited, it's driving me crazy. :eyecrazy:

Great score! It beats the shop you didn't have before, plus it has tons of potential. Make the better half happy now, and try my approach of daydreaming about your projects while you complete hers.

Keep us posted!

haha lots of day dreaming going on for now.

What's in the lean to addition?

Take your Time in arranging the area to suit your needs.

As of earlier...

..it was full of trash. I got it all cleaned out earlier. It's pretty rough.
