Littlestown bench vise. It is a 4.5" No.450. Any good?

Guy is asking 30 bucks on craigslist

I'm not a vise specialist but I like the look of that one. I'd buy it, in fact, I've had it open in my 'if you're over that way' window for a while.

I'm not all that fond of the exposed screw models... they seem to collect shavings and other crud too readily.

That seems like a decent price, but IMO, it's not a 'you ****' price.

I have had 2 littlestown Vises, NO.400. Made very close to where I live. They are decent but not great vises. Certainly not Wilton or Reed quality. My first one lasted 25 years of moderate use. Swivel base broke and was rewelded and lasted another year or so. $30 is not unreasonalbe, but I have to agree that no suckage would be awarder. Just make sure it works smoothly.
