Load bearing or ok to remove?

I have a stud in the middle of my garage that's just in the way to say it nicely. I'm thinking I can't remove it but wanted your opinions.

Ummmm, looks load bearing to me. Why else would it be there?

The bottom is not secured and the electric outlet is attached to it. It has regular rafters and also want to note that I have a cable tie from one side to another.

Also, the main board in question is attached to the garage door opener.

I can snap more pictures later

It looks like a load bearing, but the only way to tell is to get a builder in too have a look at it. Best of luck.

Load bearing. And note the added board below to add more depth and strength. What the load is, and where it is imposed is something you will need to determine.

Any column can be replaced if the beam it supports is made of adequate depth, cross section and material to support the loads imposed on it with the longer span. Do the calcs and you will find the possible solutions and costs.
