***** now I have to drive another 20 minutes to get lumber and supplies at Lowes or 84 lumber.

On a plus everything they aren't taking to their other location (further than Lowes) is 80-90% off so I grabbed a few things I could use around the shop. The packs of stainless screws were normally $8 and discounted to $1.50ea, Nicholson File and the Stanley awl are old stock U.S. made. I also grabbed $300 in sandpaper for $40 and they threw in the racks too.

Sadly, this seems to be the way of the future. I try to buy locally from the "mom and pop" type stores. Sadly, they are having more and more trouble competing with the big box stores.

Big box stores spend many millions of dollars each year bragging about how low their the lowest. This is not always true and besides the local guy can out customer service the big boxes.

Going to miss this place, especially being so convenient. Most of the time their common lumber was cheaper than Lowes too.

It’s that a booming area for construction etc with Pax River Naval Base?

That’s sad but I think Calvert County businesses have tried to keep Big Orange and Blue chains out of that county.

Someone give them a good price on the property?

I didn't know they were already selling the inventory.. anything left? I might try and swing by after work today

Still have some stuff left inside, Hardware and Caulk mostly. I think they close the doors at the end of the month.

The guy there told me Chaney bought them and is consolidating because the rent was too high.
