Such a shame to open this thread and get all excited, only to find out these Bay Area stores have closed. Only Tooland is still around from that list.

Three locations in Pennsylvania, the latest of which was just opened in the last couple of years.

Paul B Hardware

They carry a LOT of tools. A couple of years ago, I needed a 29mm impact socket, and they had an SK in stock, and I gladly bought it. As a matter of fact, they had an aisle full of SK. I splurged a bit. Last time I was there, they had ceased carrying SK, but they had a massive Milwaukee stock, and Dewalt as well. If you're ever around Lancaster or Mechanicsburg, it's worth a detour to check this place out. It's everything a hardware store ought to be.

Wholesale Tool in Tulsa, OK and Warren, MI. Went to the Tulsa location multiple times when we were there for the races. Always walked out with something!

Also used to go to Steve’s Wholesale Tools in Tulsa, but I see they have closed down.

Wholesale Tool is about 2 1/2 miles away from my house.

I find something there every trip.

Charlottesville,Va has 1 hardware store left. Martin Hardware on Preston Avenue. It's been in business since 1863. I don't believe it's been mentioned in this thread yet. Forgive me if it has been.

Tucson is slim pickens and getting slimmer!
The last good mom and pop hardware store (Lowry's) closed in 2019. And just found out yesterday that a large estate sale clearing house shut it's doors. Dang it.
All that's left - and good - is the local fireman's thrift store (Safe Shift) and the surplus department of the local electronics supplier (Elliot's).

The Safe Shift closed about 3 months ago. Dang it!

Though a new thrift store opened up that does get tools. Lots of bicycles, DVD's, and home furnishings as well. Guy running it with his mother, both are super nice. And they get new items weekly. (y)
