I have couple of questions for members who have old Blackhawk ratchets/ hinged offset drivers with older Lock-On mechanism
- I assume you can still used them with modern sockets (which do not have the buttons). Is this correct? Do they engage well or slip off easily?
Since one can not buy modern metric sockets with the buttons, I wonder if Lock-On mechanism presence made older Blackhawk freewheeling ratchets absolete or not (unless one uses it for SAE only since I never saw Lock-On metric sockets by Blackhawk (I bet they existed though...)
I have an old 3/4 Snap On extension which has a regular ball detent on one side and a button which looks like a Lock-On mechanism on the other. What was the system called for Snap On? ... Mine is probably long gone - I assume there had to be a spring behind that button to keep it sticking out, but it probably broke long time ago.
