I get nothing from the search engine. I never heard of it but other forums mention them a little bit. The general , but small, consensus is pretty decent.
I'm tearing down a lowboy for the steel.I have no air or torches or 220 where the work is to take place.
I know. I 'should" get a cordless impact. Out of budget for now.I have a couple hundred carriage bolts to rip out.9/16 socket.
I'm looking for a long LOCKABLE flex ratchet and wound up at EZ-RED. Never heard of it ? The search here led me to nothing no matter how I spelled it out.
It's good and long and I figure I can break the bolts easier than removing them if I need to.
It's the bolts holding the decking on. A breaker bar is way too slow, and floppy.
Is EZ worth a look or should I skip it ? I hate non-locking flopper flex heads. I have a couple. PITA.

well some people had good luck with them but not me. guess it all depends how much force you are going to be putting on it. mine broke the first time I used it trying to break loose lug nuts on the side of the road. the square drive part that the socket goes on snapped right off.

Why not get a 24 or 36 inch breaker bar to break the bolts loose with then use a ratchet. I bought the 24 inch one from SK and its a beast

hell even the el'cheapo breaker bars from harbor freight would be great to bust lug nuts loose. That's what I keep in the car for just that reason. As for a good 1/2" rat under 100, I agree with Armstrong MAXX. I have one and it's awesome. tool truck quality because they OEM for Matco

Breaker bars are for breaking ratchets are for ratcheting, Grab a breaker bar from craftsman, or HF if you must (I've broken the HF ones too many times to suggest them) and then you can go cheap on the ratchet. I warranty a lot of EZ-Red from the same people over and over. Seems like a decent ratchet for light work but all in all its pretty flimsy and very bulky. +1 on the Armstrong for a good "generic" tool truck quality ratchet. mrjaw14 is correct in stating they are our OEM

Couple of hundred bolts? Breaker bar than ANY kind of powered device to thread them out. M12 ratchet or 1/4" female impact driver (with 3/8" adapter). Undoing them by hand is just hours of wasted time. Get a2nd socket to leave on the power device. Break each localized group free with the bar, then power them out. Move to next group, repeat. No way I'd do even a hundred without some kind of power assist.

I know it's not 100% related but I have an EZ Red 3/4" extendable ratchet. People tell me it's an off brand but I paid $125 for the thing and it extends to almost 3 1/2 ft and it's amazing... not a large tooth count, but it's also a 3/4" so you don't need a high tooth count usually anyway.

+1 This sounds like a good plan.

Yep!! Part Number: CHT R12LFQR for $70.

Carlyle Locking Flex Ratchet.jpg

Attributes:
Quick Release Button : Yes
Ratchet Drive Size : 1/2"
Ratchet Finish : Chrome
Ratchet Handle Style : Comfort Grip
Ratchet Head Swing : 180 Deg (90 Deg CW / 90 Deg CCW)
Ratchet Length : 17.69"
Ratchet Swing Arc & # Teeth : 5 Deg Arc / 72 Teeth

But I'd probably go with the Armstrong ratchet recommended above if for no other reason than it's made in USA.
