Here is a thought Luke.....posts that stay inactive after a certain about of time....a month or 2 for an example.....could these be locked and put into a archive somewere??? I think this would help with not resurrecting old posts and possibly save some file space on your site???

I have to disagree here. What if someone wants to resurrect the thread themselves...say, a thread about their garage they haven't been working on in a couple of months. Would they not be allowed to add to the thread?

I don't think an additional post on an old thread takes up any more space than someone adding a post to a new thread.

I don't mind people bringing up old stuff every now and then. I actually find it annoying on forums that lock posts older than 30 days. There is a lot of important stuff people might want to bring back up.

Yes 30 days is alittle harsh....I am talking about maybe a few months only if it sits dormant....not an active thread that is used daily buy posters
