Loft Alternative

I have been looking at some of the lofts on here, but I had an idea. Has anyone built a riser for storage underneath? Sort of like building a deck inside the building and having the space on top for hanging out or working? Any downsides? I don't have any solid plans yet, but I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas. I'm working with a brand new 25 X 30 X 12 metal building.

There is a motorcycle shop in Madison that has a set up kinda like the one pictured in the attached image. When these set ups are in smaller spaces and used to there full potential they are a right pain to get a photograph of. They are a great use of space if your ceilings are tall enough thought.

That looks pretty cool. I was thinking about the "deck" being about 4' tall. That way I could tie into the girt. I play in a band, so maybe I have a stage in mind. I'm thinking more about sliding storage underneath. If I had the vertical room, I would definitely have something like that set up.
