I am toying with the idea to build log milling machine, does anyone know where could I get building plans?

Matthias Wandel has plans for a bandsaw sawmill. I think his is a 14 inch capacity, which would be plenty for me. I've bought the plans and I have all the parts to get started, but I haven't built yet. Will do it in the spring. Should be be able to easily get the saw, generator, and lumber in the back of even a small pickup.

There are other forums with much bigger versions, up to trailer mount. What size are you going for?

One problem with your typical band saw mill is that you will need a lot of spare blades and you will need to learn how to sharpen them. You could go through 3 or 4 blades in as many hours.

In it I suggested the $2000.00 H F mill as a starting point for DIY builders.
I will second the idea here.
You get a working, basic mill with a bunch of u-tube videos on inprovments.
