Log splitter hydraulic hose

I have a log splitter and one of the hoses is leaking oil. It is a .625" id hose that runs from the oil tank to the valve. It doesn't appear to be a high pressure line and is clamped with hose clamps. Someone has used a heater hose for this and I was thinking that I would need an oil-resistant hose. Do I need this or will a new heater hose work? Thanks.

Hoses are made with different compounds depending on what their use is. While that hose my work for a while, I'd replace it before it goes at the wrong time.

My Guess is Return Line, Heater hose isnt the best choice for Hydraulic Oil, If its getting soft its breaking down replace it with some Hydraulic Hose, No need for High Pressure fittings.

I sell hose for a living. Get rid of the heater hose as it will not handle the oil. Get yourself a length of 100R4 hydraulic hose designed for return lines. Any hydraulic shop will have it.
