Today was out in my detached garage I'm building and was in need of a vise to hold a piece of 2x6. I got a nice big vise in my house garage but it's a few steps away and it's always a little greasy anyway. I got the log splitter stored in new garage and somehow thought of using that as a vise. Worked great (with a gentle touch on the lever).
Another use that I think might work would be a tire bead breaker.
Also to raise objects. Put that splitter in vertical position and hook adapter to object and hit the lever. What I got in mind is a ice shack one of my kids built and is sitting in yard and I want to lift it to get in onto at least 4x4's and roll it away with some plank and pipe. Sure, I could use my floor jack but it'd be more interesting to try the splitter

. Just gotta think and be safe when trying this stuff because there is a lot of force behind 28 ton.
