Long awaited new garage in Florida

I have finally started my new garage/workshop. The standard 20 x 20 attached garage just was not cutting it. I can't wait for my new 30 x 30ft with a 12 ft roof to be done. This will be mostly a fab shop for Porsche race cars and whatever else we feel like doing. Lucky for us here in Florida, we only need a minimal footer with no frost to worry about. We do however have to have everything wind load rated to 120 mph so I decided to go with full block construction to match the house.

The surveyor pinned it and checked the elevation.

Raised it up a little and got it ready for concrete. The squares are extra footer support for the lift.

Interesting care to post pictures of the cars you have worked on also?

Great building! Is block construction the norm in your area? I suppose you don't have to worry about insulation either?

Looking forward to seeing more!

Yes, block is the norm for the most part. I am about 20 miles from the Atlantic Ocean so the entire structure needs to be wind rated for 120 MPH. Insulation is not too important. It is more common now with electric rates on the rise. We normally only insulate the ceiling. My area only averages one freeze a year. It was 96 degrees yesterday.
