Long driver bits

Good morning. Some searching hasn't netted me what I'd like to find. Can anybody point me at a small set of 6" (ish) long bit drives with a 1/4" hex shank? I'm really only looking for the most common types and sizes, say PH1,2,3; SQ2, T25...

Anybody know of such an animal without buying the bits individually? I've searched Zoro, Makita, MIlwaukee, Dewalt, PB, Wera, Wiha...

I wound up buying generic (Chinese) both 2"-3" and 6" driver bits, because I only need a few. P2, P3, Robertson #2, medium straight and a couple of Torx.

That's getting very close. Replace the slotted with square and give me 1 each #1 and #3 Phillips, and it would be just right. How do you suppose the quality is on those? Thinks it's really S2 steel?
Lowes sells a basic Craftsman 6 pc set that has one slotted, a T25, a #2sq and three #2ph. Its around $7 and would make a good starter set.

HF has a 10 pc Warrior set, but I’m not personally willing to go that low on quality.
Agree. I made the Warrior mistake once. Never again. I'll look at the Craftsman.

Thanks all.

They're guaranteed to be junk, IMO.

There isn't much value in buying these as "sets" versus individuals. You always end up with random stuff you don't need and lacking things you do need. It's worth the 10 minutes to go on KC Tool or Chad's Toolbox or wherever and buy quality bits if you only need a few styles and don't need bulk bits. Wera, Wiha, PB Swiss are all great. I'd buy Milwaukee / Dewalt / Makita bits for things I need in bulk as they're still good but much more affordable if I'm putting them into a drill where they'll get chewed up.

Why do you want such long bits? I think 6” is too long. I only use bits that long for pocket hole screws. I wanted to hate the long Milwaukee bits but I don’t. They work really well. I think they work like torque sticks, limiting torque to prevent head stripping. I will take pictures of my sets for you later. I bought those Milwaukee sets, then reconfigured them to suit what I need for general carpentry.

They are my favorite length and I have built a considerable set. They are easy to grab out of my tool pouch, tool bag and tray. Several of my bit handles have the receiver inside so a 6" bit becomes like 4-5" once inserted. I love the functionality of that length in an impact driver. Just to name a few advantages.

Pocket screws is one of the uses I was thinking of. Also, there are places where if I could reach further, it would allow me to get a straighter line on the screw head.

Here are my current bits. I obviously have 10,000 more but these are the sets I use constantly for framing.

Upper right far right are the special structural screw bits for Simpson SDWS and Timberloks.

I use the bottom right the most and only switch to shorter when I can’t fit the longer.

On the left is my 6” Kreg #2 sq, obviously nut drivers at the top and drills and countersinks.

I’ve had this kit for a long time.

This kit is newer and its purpose is to get me out of jambs. I did buy the Milwaukee right angle impact driver in 12V and I do like it. That tends to accompany this bit set. But sometimes hand tools are necessary. The little Klein bit ratchet has already paid for itself in time savings.

The Snap On ratcheting screwdriver needs no introductions. Everybody on GJ should have at least one of these. I have several shanks for these and prefer the longest one. But that’s not what this kit is about.

Because I know someone will ask: these cases are part of the Milwaukee pack out system that I don’t own. I have found all bit cases to be annoying. The Bosch jig saw blade case is the worst with the confusing green Bosch drill case a close second. These Milwaukee cases are less annoying and relatively inexpensive Home Depot. I’ve tried almost everything from simple Schaller bins to MTS magnetic holders. You can reconfigure the guts to fit what you want, so I just bought the cheapest sets they had and put my bits in them (obviously sorry)

What I like about these are they don’t spring open and vomit their guts out when I drop them. They do a good job at keeping the bits clean, which helps prevent rust. Wish they came in different colors because closed they all look the same. That’s easily fixed with paint pens or colored electrical tape though.

Bumping this topic because I ran into a situation over the weekend installing an attic fan in tight quarters that I really needed some long bits but didn't have handy. Ended up driving the screws in by hand, which was not fun.
Where can I buy Apex bits? Do they make a long bit holder too, in case I need more length than the bit offers?
