This is old (at least 25 yrs) and was bought from Harbor Freight

It pumps up, but if you stand on the pad, it will loose pressure. I refilled with new fluid, but the seals are shot.

Anyone have any idea where I can get new seal kit or seals? Part numbers? I do not believe I have the manual (I may), but they don't even sell a long frame jack anymore, never mind a foot pump start one.

I don't see any numbers, etc. when looking at the cylinder.

Some little kid in China has the parts in his pocket! I would like to know who he is too.

It's a stupid simple design, tear it down, Measure the seals and go from there. I remember when HF used to include a Seal kit with those jacks.

I got a Bud who has one about that age and it lasted until a dipstick working for him did something to it, don't recall now but that was a really good jack and they used it daily for about 25 years too. I think he paid about 200 new but it was handy and I would have bought one but they quit offering it.

That jack is still being built and its is distributed by many companies in different colors. Probably the most rebranded jack ever. :eyecrazy:

Greg Smith Equipment sells one version, American Forge and Foundry sells, or sold, another. I believe it is made by TORIN and they do have one version with their own name and it is model TR20003.

http://www.tongrunjacks.com/catalog/

So SBERRY can actually have one of these jacks since they are still available. One just needs to know where to look.

I really like the long frame jacks. I think taking it apart and measuring the seals and matching them up will be your best option.

I find a similar jack about 1 hr from me for $100. Seller said it works fine. Is this a good/decent price or too expensive for an old jack?

Appreciate any feedback.

Depends on what brand it is. And then you will know about getting parts.

Central Hydraulics model 42820, which has the same orange paint and white saddle and handle like in the OP.

I looked around, it seems that I can still buy parts for it.

Worth $100?

Yes. Worth $100 ten year ago 2015 dollars. Worth triple that today, as no other import floor jack made lifts from as low as 5" to as high as 32" from the ground. I own five (5) of these long frame floor jacks... and have used them to lift up motorhomes and service trucks.

The original Harbor Freight Item Number for these long frame floor jacks was #6600.

I'm not sure about the "42820" Item Number, as mine all say "6600", but mine were purchased nearly 30 years ago.

At first I bought a pair, in the mid '90's. After using them for a couple of months the, tremendous high rise utility, stability, and uniqueness from other floor jacks in that price range became immediately apparent, so I returned and bought two more, believing that values this good usually cease being offered, because the value equation favors the consumer, rather than the supply chain.

This eventually proved to be true, but it took quite a bit longer than I expected for the businesses involved to "wise up" to the value this jack put into the hands of mere mortals unwilling to make a mortgage payment for a long frame floor jack from the likes of Hein-Werner, Walker, Lincoln, OTC, or even Arcan. And while all of those brands of jacks offered something similarly long, none lifted quite as high. Or even nearly as high, in many cases.

But they all had greater lifting capacities than the 2.5 ton long frame jack sold around the world under many brands, and in the US by Harbor Freight. That is why I use these jacks in pairs... to obtain the high lift, while respecting the lower weight capacity of each jack. I use four jacks to raise any vehicle over 10,000 lbs tare weight. 4 x 2.5 x 2,000 = 20,000 lbs lift capacity. Plenty of jack stands are also used.

The 5th one I saw on Craigslist, and jumped on it, as it included an extra pump and cylinder assembly that the original owner received from HF but never installed. That jack still works great as it is, without the new pump. I realize this is a 10 year old thread, but this is a good ol' jack that need not die for lack of seals. Lazzar's HRCNOW still offers seal kits as of 2024, and hopefully, between all the different brand iterations of this jack sold globally, seal pump shaft boot kits will remain available for years to come from other parts sources as well.

Had no idea HF sold a floor jack that went up 32in from the ground. Would have been tempted to buy a couple. Hopefully, someone post a rebuild thread on this model with lots of pictures.
